Carbon Offsets at Greenbuild 2012

USGBC has partnered with TerraPass to support 100% of the carbon emissions due to Greenbuild. Help to balance your emissions by supporting carbon offset and renewable energy projects from TerraPass. You can purchase carbon offsets to support these projects through Greenbuild registration.

Carbon offsets purchased to offset Greenbuild emissions will support the following five projects:

Red Hills Wind Farm • Elk City, Oklahoma
Red Hills Wind Farm is sited on 5,000 acres of mixed use agriculture and grazing land, and features 82 1.5 MW turbines.

100% Wind RECs • WECC Region
These particular credits are generated from 100% wind projects within the Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC) region.

Scenic View Dairy • Southwestern Michigan
Scenic View Dairy is the first digester project in the US to generate both electricity and pipeline grade natural gas. An anaerobic digester turns the dairy’s manure into fuel for electricity or heat, as well as cow bedding for use on the farm and in the community.

Worcester County Landfill • Newark, Maryland
This landfill-gas-capture project captures methane and destroys it by combustion in generators or in an enclosed flare

Greater Lebanon Refuse Authority • Lebanon, Pennsylvania
This project mitigates climate change by reducing the amount of greenhouse gases (methane) that would otherwise be released from the landfill.
